Climate change is one of the greatest challenges we face today. However, there are many misconceptions and half-truths surrounding this topic. To better understand the reality and act accordingly, we present a series of short videos that debunk the most common climate myths and provide verified facts.

Why Is It Important to Distinguish Myths from Facts?

Myths can lead to misunderstanding the seriousness of climate issues and delay necessary actions to address them. In contrast, accurate information helps individuals and communities make better decisions, contribute to environmental protection, and improve resilience to climate change.

🎥 Myth No. 1: The Climate Crisis Means Only Rising Temperatures

➡️ Why this is not true:

Although “global warming” is often mentioned, climate change brings much broader consequences. Higher temperatures affect the water cycle, causing uneven distribution of precipitation and resulting in extremes such as droughts and floods. Weakened ecosystems and changes in weather also threaten agriculture, leading to rising food prices and greater supply insecurity. Therefore, it is important to understand climate change as a complex phenomenon that affects our daily lives—not just as a rising thermometer reading.

🎥Myth No. 3: Climate Change Will Only Affect Future Generations

➡️ Why this is not true:

We are already feeling the effects of climate change today — through extreme heatwaves, floods, air pollution, and rising food prices. It is happening here and now, and it affects us all.

Climate change affects each of us, but we often don’t realize it. It can seem like the solutions are far away or too complicated. The truth is that everyone can contribute—through everyday choices, supporting local projects, or simple lifestyle changes. Education and awareness give us the tools to act effectively and together. Together, we can create a healthier and more resilient environment for ourselves and future generations.

🎥 Myth No. 2: Nature-based solutions are too slow

➡️ Why this is not true:

Nature-based solutions, such as wetland restoration, planting greenery, or green roofs, work quickly — they reduce temperatures, retain water, and improve the climate within the first few months. Moreover, their effects increase over time.

🎥 Myth No. 4: Planting Trees Is the Only Solution

➡️ Why this is not true:

Planting trees is important, but not enough. Solutions need to be comprehensive – including green roofs, urban parks, changes in land management, and restoration of watercourses.
