ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The main goal of this project is to increase the level of development of cross-border tourism in the Carpathian region and thus contribute to the socio-economic renewal and development of the cross-border area of Ukraine and Slovakia. The project is of particular benefit to local authorities, public administrations, tourism entrepreneurs, development and business support agencies, tourist information centers, farmers, visitors and tourists, and ultimately mainly to the population in the regions concerned in the form of new partnerships and cooperation in tourism, planning the possibilities of developing and increasing the growth of tourism in border areas, creating a system and opportunities for increasing the level of knowledge and skills about tourism and preparing an attractive and unique offer and its effective marketing.

The project will result in case studies and training seminars led by renowned experts on rural tourism, marketing, communication, planning, strategy for further development of tourism in the field, technical documentation, pilot products for visitors and joint marketing activities to support them created on the basis of cooperation.

Activities:

Within project:

– we offer space for new partnerships and cooperation in tourism:

  • identification and networking of actors,
  • assistance in building partnerships and cooperation.

– we plan the possibilities of developing and increasing the growth of tourism in border areas:

  • elaboration of a common strategy for a common attraction – Carpathians
  • elaboration of technical documentation for the pilot part of the project

– we will create a system and opportunities for increasing the level of knowledge and skills about tourism:

  • evaluation of current educational needs of actors,
  • development of innovative education methodology,
  • preparation and implementation of training through a tailor-made program and experts for selected 100 participants.

– we will start with the preparation of an attractive and unique offer and its effective marketing:

creation of 4 unique cross-border products:

  • use of communication tools for promotion: printed advertising materials (brochures, printed guides, DVD film, leaflets,
  • maps and others), participation in exhibitions in Ukraine and Slovakia, PR activities, information portal and more.

  • Analysis of the educational needs of the inhabitants of the Carpathian Tourist Route
  • Educational program for residents of the Carpathian Tourist Route
  • The concept of the virtual “Carpathian tourist route”
  • Territorial profiles on the territory of the Carpathian Tourist Route (SK, UA)
  • Return study demonstrating the capacity of local entities with a real interest in the development of tourism in the area, evaluation of the investment potential of various stakeholders and pilot designation of selected tourist routes in Ukraine
  • Cross-border tourism products
  • Communication and dissemination tools – printed advertising materials (brochures for visitors in the area, printed guides to tourism products, photo and video DVDs, leaflets, route maps and others), T-shirts, information panels, participation in exhibitions in Ukraine and Slovakia, PR activities, project website, information portal and more
  • 16 events – educational seminars, discussion forums, consultation workshops, networking meetings, exhibitions, final project conference
