Pilot Phase: Testing Innovative Approaches
One of the main topics of the meeting was the pilot phase of the project. Partners are testing tools that help businesses implement circular approaches in key areas such as:
- Design: Creating products with a focus on their reuse or recycling.
- Materials and recovery: Using sustainable materials and improving waste recovery.
- Business models: Introducing models centered on leasing or reusing products.
- Processes: Optimizing production to reduce waste.
Practical Insights
During the meeting, Elektryka Morska presented its approach to reducing electronic waste in the maritime industry. Their example demonstrates that even in technically demanding sectors, circular solutions can be implemented effectively.
Visit to Bernegger GmbH
The second day of the meeting concluded with a visit to Bernegger GmbH, where we learned about their groundbreaking thermal metal recovery process. This first-of-its-kind process enables more efficient utilization of waste from the electrical and electronics industry, contributing to landfill waste reduction.
